HOSTING?
Yes. Many of our customers have transferred their
domains to us. When you order from us, we will submit
your domain name to be transferred.
Can I use my
account for commercial purposes?
Yes, you can use your account for commercial purposes.
To edit
my site, do I need to use a NT or UNIX computer?
You don't have to be using a NT or UNIX computer
to edit your webpage. Any computer with Internet
access should be sufficient.

How fast
is your connection?
We are located in a facility with multiple redundant
DS-3 connections to AT&T, Sprint, & GTE
the Major Internet Backbones. We also are connected
to QWest for assured reliability. This means that
your connection will always be fast, and if a DS-3
should go down or be clogged with traffic, your
site will still be available through one of the
other DS-3's. A typical download speed from our
servers when using a cable modem is greater than
800 Kbps (100 KB / s).
What can't I
do with my Web space?
Attempts to bring down our servers are forbidden.
No warez, NO adult content, hacking, illegal activity,
or hate group sites are allowed. Such sites are
warned, then removed. In addition, you aren't allowed
to use your e-mail to send Spam.
Are my
log files counted towards my allotted space?
Your log files are not counted towards your space
used.
Why do
you cost so much less than other web hosts?
Many of the other web hosts have toll-free phone
support 24 hours, 7 days per week. If we offered
this, it would greatly increase our prices.
Are
there any additional costs?
There are no additional costs. The only fees you
need to pay are for the web hosting,, initial setup
fees, and domain name (If Needed). Our prices are
straight-forward and there are no strings attached.
Do I have
to post
KOALA HOSTING banner
on my page?
You don't have to post our banner, nor any other
material on your site. The content of your site
is your choice. However, if you want a free site,
then you must display our banner on your site.
Do you offer
custom accounts?
Yes. Several of our clients have ordered custom
accounts that meet their needs better than our normal
accounts.
What
is your fee regarding domain name registration?
New domain names cost $19.90 for the first two
years. Each additional year is $9.95 thereafter.
Do
I have to pay the domain fee?
Yes. Anyone who registers a new domain name with
a .com, .net, or .org extension (regardless of
what web hosting provider one goes through) MUST
pay the domain fee. There's really no way around
this! If you wish to host a sub-domain name with
us (i.e. yourname.koala-hosting.com ), the domain
fee is not applicable.
How
can I register foreign domain names (.uk, .se,
.ca, etc)?
Either through us or on your own, we are now
capable of ordering foreign domains and hosting
them as well.
How
long does it take for the world to access my domain
name?
We, of course, will setup your domain name on
our servers within 24 hours. While setting up
your site, we will simultaneously register your
domain name with the registrar. The registrar
takes up to another 72 hours to complete new domain
name registrations. However after this time period,
it truly depends on ALL networks and ISPs of the
world to update their servers and lookup your
new domain name. Most popular dial-up ISPs (i.e.
AOL, Earthlink, Slip.Net, Mindspring) take less
then 6 hours or faster to update their servers,
while others will take more than 2 days. So if
you are still using a dial-up connection the Internet,
make sure you have a reliable ISP that promply
updates its DNS servers, so you can access yourdomain.com
right away.
What
can I expect if I am transferring a domain name
to KOALA
HOSTING?
Expect an email from the registrar! If you
have already registered your domain name, or transferring
your domain name to us, Jafa Networks will send
a modification template to your registrar, and
they will in turn send it to the administrative,
technical, or billing contact of the domain name
involved. Only one person must agree to the email
and reply-back to the registrar for the transfer
to successfully go through.
How
do I know if my domain name is still available?

will lookup the registrar database to see if the
desired domain name has yet to be registered.
